Dentistry from the Heart (DFTH) is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to providing free dental care to those who need it. Every year, individual dentists and practices across the country donate their time and resources to host their own DFTH events.
Our first DFTH was a resounding success! Patients started lining up around the office at 3:30 AM. Forty volunteers from other dental offices, University of Michigan-Flint, family members of our own staff and people from the community at large donated their time and expertise, and local businesses as well some of our existing patients helped with donations, monetary and otherwise. That allowed us to serve more than 160 patients that day.
It was an overwhelming experience for everyone involved. What we received back in personal satisfaction, sense of accomplishment and wishes of goodwill from the people we served more than made up for the large effort every one put in to make the event possible. We are looking forward to the years to come!
