1. Digital X-rays: Gone are the "cardboard" films that we used to place in your mouth to take x-rays. Gone are the developing chemicals and the waiting to visualize the x-rays. Now, with the help of digital sensors, we can take x-rays and visualize them on a computer monitor instantaneously. We can enlarge the image so that you can see what we see. No longer do we have to store your x-rays in special envelopes and risk misplacement. Now your x-rays are stored in your computer digital file and can be duplicated and sent to your specialist instantly and as many times as you want.
The best news is that with digital x-rays, you´re exposed to 70-80% less radiation than with traditional x-rays.
2. Intra-oral cameras: Now, when your dentist talks to you about a small fracture you have in an upper molar, or leaking in an existing filling, you can SEE exactly what is being talked about. Here at Dental Care Team, we have small "wand cameras" attached directly to the computer monitor where you can visualize your teeth and whatever problems they may have.
3. Diagnodent: This is a small wand that emits a special laser beam. It helps us detect cavities at a very early stage so that we can take care of them when they are very small, thereby preserving the maximum amount of your tooth structure.
4. Computerized records: All of those files with papers upon papers in them containing all of your information are no longer needed. Now our computers contain your files eliminating the need for storage, making our service more efficient and ultimately providing you with more thorough service. Of course, don´t forget all of the trees we are saving.
